Weekly Update 9/20-9/24

Announcements

• MID-TERM grades are now posted on parent portal – please check HERE!
• Don’t forget about the HOMEWORK that will be due on WEDNESDAY! See the calendar for more information.
• This FRIDAY 9/24 is picture retake day
• We are attaching two documents that we are also sending home with students. Please ask your student for these documents or print them: IMPORTANT TIGER INFORMATION, Movie Permission 2010. Please return these to school with your student on FRIDAY!!

ME Time

Last week students examined their reading and writing CSAP scores and set goals. This week, students will continue to examine data and begin working on their goals. We will begin grouping kids by areas of need so that we can better assist students.

Curriculum Foci:

• Language Arts – characterization in Freak the Mighty, continue vocabulary, SRI testing
• Geography – Thematic Maps, 5 themes of Geography (location and place)
• Math – Chapter 1 wrap-up and test; introduce transformations
• Science – living, non-living, or dead

Homework

You should be beginning to see homework being sent home. MOST Tiger homework is due on Wednesdays (Language Arts- Reading Bookmark and Geography- Current Event) except for Math which is assigned most evenings. Please review the Weekly Homework Calendar each Monday to become aware of assignments your student is responsible for completing! Check the Tiger Homework Calendar located HERE, or by clicking on the “Calendar” tab at the top of the web page underneath the picture of the Tiger.
