Weekly Update 5/8 – 5/11

The Countdown is ON!!!

Important Information:

  • Final library turn-in date is next WEDNESDAY MAY 16th! Please help make sure your student has books turned in and fines paid!
  • Awards Night: if your student is being recognized at the awards night, you will be receiving an invitation soon! 6th and 7th grade awards night will be Thursday May 17th from 6:00-7:00 PM.
  • Pancake Breakfast for Mother’s Day! Click here for more information.
  • Bike Week! This week, if students ride their bikes to school they will get a treat at the bike rack! Help support clear air and healthy kids!
  • Penny Wars are going on now to help raise money for an animal shelter! Bring in your pennies to your SSR class and your silver change into the class you want to lose!

Science: Taking a stance about genetic engineering; argument writing

Social Studies: What does the world need; claim and stance

Weekly Update 4/30-5/4

Important News:

The field trip to the Denver Zoo is THIS FRIDay 5/4. Students should bring the following:

  • SACK LUNCH
  • Water Bottle
  • Backpack to carry items
  • Light jacket or rain coat
  • Sunscreen
  • Pen or pencil
  • Extra money if they want to purchase an ice cream cone or snack
  • Camera (optional – one persona from each group has agreed to bring his/her digital/wireless camera for our project)
  • Manners

We will leave school at about 8:30 AM and return by 2:30 PM. Students bring personal electronic devices at their own risk.

Weekly Update 4/23-4/27

Important Information:

FIELD TRIP PERMISSIONS slips DUE this FRIDAY!! Please send your student’s permission slip along with the $10 fee ASAP! Chaperones will also need to pay $5 and drive themselves to the zoo.

Library Fees:

Students may bring a canned food item in to replace up to one dollar of their late fee. Please help out!

Remembering Our Roots: we are beginning our culminating end of the year project….please talk with your students about their heritage – where your ancestors originally came from! Students need this information by MONDAY!

Hello Tiger Families! Last week until SPRING BREAK!! Sorry we haven’t posted in a couple of weeks – things got busy with the TCAP test! Students worked hard and we can’t wait to see how everyone performed!

-Spring Break: No school 4/2/12-4/6/12 Have a nice spring weak and Easter weekend.

- It was great to see so many Tigers in the talent show last weekend!

-Congratulations to students who were recognized for student of the month at last Friday’s assembly!

Weekly Update 3/5-3/9

Happy March Tiger Team Families!!

Important Information:

  • Testing Season is here! Please click HERE for information from CDE about the TCAP process. Students will be testing next week on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (3/13, 3/14, 3/15) and the following Tuesday and Wednesday (3/20,3/21).
  • Students will have regular classes during TCAP testing, but they will NOT have homework assignments.

Weekly Update 2/27-3/2

Oops…looks like last week’s post never officially “posted” sorry about that! I went ahead and reposted it for anyone who is interested in reading it.

Important Information:

TCAP (formerly the CSAP) is coming up! 7th graders will test on Tuesday March 13th, Wednesday March 14th, and Thursday March 15th, and also Tuesday March 20th and Wednesday March 21st. Students will be taking two tests on each of the testing days and it is important that all students are here to take the tests. If your child is absent we will have him/her make up any missed tests as soon as he/she returns.

Study after school! The library is now open after school until 4:00 PM on Mondays and Thursdays. Students can stay and read, catch up on work, or use the computers.

Weekly Update 2/21-2/24

Welcome back from a long weekend! It was nice to see so many of you at conferences.

Important Information:

Field Trip Success! Thanks to al of the parent volunteers who helped make our trip to the museum a success. Also, thanks to families who donated extra moneyfor those who couldn’t afford it – we appreciate you all!
