Conference Champs

All three Boys Varsity Basketball teams made it to the conference championship game over the weekend.  The 8th grade Thunderbird team made it as back-to-back champions of the Northern Conference with a 49-46 win over Windsor in the Semi-final game and repeated that performance with a 49-46 championship win over Walt Clark for the 2nd year in a row.  The championship team consists of Jose Orrantia, Dennis Landry, Dallen Cook, Taven Whitehurst, Alec Pacella, Dakota Sedillo, Dylan Petersen, Chase Arnaud-Pacillo, Ramon Salgado, Brenton Emmons and Tim Lenhart.  They have earned the right to have a Banner placed in the T-Bird gymnasium.

The 6th and 7th grade teams got to the championship game but were not as successful.  The 6th Grade T-Bird team reached the finals by defeating the Severance Hawks 44-28.  They were defeated by that same team in their first game of the year by a score of 45-29.  The championship game did not end as well as the Cougars of Clark defeated them 44-29.  The 7th grade lost a barn-burning shootout 71-68.  They trailed by 20 points in the 1st half and made a remarkable comeback to take the lead but then lost by three.  They finished their season with an outstanding 9-3 record.
